We believe that discovering one’s talent, blossoming, training, projecting oneself into the future and having real job prospects in the IT and digital sector should not be conditional on financial means. The 42 concept is strongly committed to enabling everyone to succeed. So there are no application fees, no registration fees, no equipment costs and no hidden costs.
Our training is free from start to finish.
Inclusivity
Whether you consider yourself to be an atypical profile, whether you’re undergoing a career change, thinking about your future, from an underprivileged neighborhood, … we will treat you as any other person joining our school. At 42 Nice, we don’t discriminate or stereotype in any way. Anyone can learn to code and make a career out of it. There’s no age limit either. All you need to do to join our school is to be of legal age.
No degree required
Unlike other schools or universities, at 42 Nice we don’t select on the basis of academic record or qualifications.
To join 42 Nice, all you need to do is :
- Be 18 years old. If you haven’t reached the age of majority, you’ll be asked to show your Bac or equivalent diploma. This is the only case!
- Pass the admission tests.
- Successfully complete the piscine. This is a month-long experience during which you’ll learn how we operate. This will also enable you to see if our teaching methods are right for you. Promise: you don’t need to know how to swim!
No teachers, no lectures, no classes
At 42 Nice, you’ll learn in a whole new way! Forget about the usual school, college or university scheme: here, there are no teachers, classes, timetables or lectures!
The 42 pedagogy is avant-garde and daring: no way are you going to learn computer development from a strictly theoretical angle. On the contrary, you’ll learn to code and program in a concrete and practical way by writing lines of code on a computer (and not on a sheet of paper), developing real projects as part of a team, and all this on the basis of a gamified curriculum. Our school defends a different model of education, one in which you’ll be encouraged to seek your own solutions and defend them, to work in a group, and to exchange ideas with your fellow students in order to progress.
Nevertheless, our training remains a benchmark of excellence in the IT field.
A global network of excellence
Our campus is part of The 42 Network, which currently consists of 49 campuses in France and abroad. That’s over 18,000 students worldwide! You’ll be able to communicate with other profiles like yourself, from different nationalities and cultures. After the core curriculum, you can even continue your studies at one of the network’s campuses, if you fancy an experience abroad!
No prior experience in coding required
You’ve never done any coding before? Or even worked with computers? Not a problem!
70% of our students had little or no knowledge of code before joining the school!
So no need to know anything about programming to sign up and try the piscine.
3 years more or less
In a traditional training program, you follow a timetable, a calendar, a level, a class. You have to adapt to the imposed rhythm; and for those who can’t, there’s often a feeling of failure or “backwardness”. Not at 42 Nice.
Here, our program adapts to everyone’s pace and life situation. Students manage their pace and progress through the curriculum, as it’s possible to take more or less time to advance on a project, without restriction. It is also possible to take a break from the course for personal reasons, and then return to complete it under better conditions.
Not just a job: a carrer
Generally speaking, we expect a training course to prepare us for a certain career, and perhaps only that one. This is not the case at 42 Nice. Rather than offering a succession of short courses on specific technologies or languages that quickly become obsolete, 42’s pedagogy enables you to learn how to learn, so that you can always progress professionally, adapt to new technologies and aspire to well-paid positions.
With 42 Nice, you can train not only for today’s IT and digital careers, but also for those that don’t yet exist.
A human oriented training
The 42 concept stands out from all other types of training, because it integrates the notion of difference; it takes into account the fact that each person is unique and that each one has his or her own richness.
Mixity and diversity are a strength, both during training and in working life. That’s why the 42 training program encourages exchanges, rewards sharing and integrates mutual concern.

A fast-expanding worldwide network
Each campus is founded, with partners, on the model of 42 Paris: the first school that opened in 2013. They help to spread the 42 methods that have been proven effective worldwide. Each campus forges strong links with local ecosystems to offer students the 42 pedagogy everywhere, at all times.
42 Nice is part of The 42 Network – the world’s largest network of free, innovative computer science schools open to all. Since its opening, our campus has been working to deploy the same pedagogy, the same learning methods and the same values as all our other campuses.
